The wilds rarely get their hooves trimmed until they can be calmed down, used to people around them and that's when the basics can begin.
Having special neighbours and friends that come to visit help us to acclimate these incredible wilds. Their ability to learn people are safe and kind is very important as their instinct is to flee from humans.
Our goal here is to bring in the wilds (pregnant) some with foals at their sides and sometimes just orphans.
We don't get alot of hands on, we are more about letting them learn to trust humans, other animals, vehicles, farm equipment, noises... .and have them ready to start their new lives when the right human family comes along to adopt them.
We get right in the middle of helping anyone here needing assistance from vet care to hoof trims.... It's about helping the horses to learn to love and trust. that's the beginning....
Our Farrier Frank Boden is experienced and gentle with a ton of patience for all the horses needing hoof care.
We like to show people every aspect of what our rescue is about, from head to toe.
